Network Engineer Position Responsibilities

  • Manages a portfolio of assigned service contract customers as well as assigned non-contract customers. Builds and maintains strong customer relationships, yielding knowledge and understanding of specific customer needs, expectations, infrastructure strategy and business objectives.   
  • Drives the delivery of service contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met, deliverables are on time and within budget, job costs are reduced, and financial performance objectives are met as directed by the Service Operations Manager. Performs regular audits on all service contracts. 
  • Works directly with the customer to achieve customer satisfaction through development of trusted-advisor relationships. Implements and manages a customer success plan (CSP), identifies opportunities to grow the Company service contract base through proposal of additional services to existing customers, conducts regular customer site visits, demonstrates industry knowledge, and maintains a professional image when meeting with clients. Reports results of customer success plan to DAC Service and Operations management to drive a system of continuous improvement of the delivery of services. 
  • Closely monitors customers' technology and relationships in order to support and augment all customers with additional sales of products and services as opportunities are found. 
  • Supports a variety of technology solutions and must have experience with varying technology environments. Solutions include a variety of Servers, a variety of network solutions, and a variety of applications and user computing devices.   
  • Updates and maintains customer relationship management system (CRM) including detailed customer information such as organizational charts, political roadmaps, customer success plans, understanding of customer-specific fiscal requirements and billing procedures, key contacts, technical infrastructure matrices, building and system documentation, warranties, task planning and contract execution statuses. 
  • Schedules facetime with and follows up on all assigned customers. Meets monthly to discuss expiring contracts, review service program and upcoming preventative maintenance (PM) visits. Attends regular client meetings to review the current status of accounts. 
  • Participates in coordination of meetings with other Service Managers and Project Managers. 
  • Assist with implementing FD&D, analytics, cloud-based services, and other offers. Assists Client Services and Operations Manager in the coordination of Contract Kick-Off, MBR/QBR and Year End Contract meetings. 
  • Provides input and assistance with developing processes and procedures to establish DAC as the premier provider of services for the assigned line of business. 
  • Assists with collection of funds for past due service contract accounts. Provides administrative and service coordination overflow support when needed. 
  • Accurately and in a timely manner, administers Service Work Ticket system, including adding new sites, adding flags, and updating customer site changes. 
  • Maintains company compliance status with various Safety Management Organizations, client safety websites, and training centers. 
  • Ensures DAC follows legal requirements, owner specifications, safety certifications and government regulations. Analyzes and mitigates risk. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Network Engineer Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree or Industry Certifications highly preferred.
  • Five (5) years of IT systems design, install and support including Windows and Linux Servers (HP and Dell experience a plus), Windows, Linux and MAC Desktops and computing devices, Various Layer 2 and 3 switches (Cisco and Juniper a plus), Various Firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto a plus), and various Enterprise class Applications.
  • Experience in IT Systems Design, Install and support including Windows and Linux Servers (HP and Dell experience a plus).    
  • Ability to support complex environments with varying software and hardware. 
  • Must understand and fully own the management of change process. 
  • Well-organized and analytical with strong problem-solving skills. Strategic thinker with good attention to detail and able to work in a fast-paced environment where time management and the ability to prioritize are essential.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to company business models and develop results-driven processes and procedures that create efficiency. 
  • Ability to support Windows, Linux and MAC Desktops and computing devices, Various Layer 2 and 3 switches (Cisco and Juniper a plus), Various Firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto a plus), and various Enterprise Class Applications.
  • Successful with consultative selling, account planning, and relationship building.
  • Team-oriented, but comfortable working independently.
  • Comprehension of advanced arithmetical functions to compute discounts, ratios, and conversions.  Must comprehend basic accounting calculations and budget management. 
  • Juniper and Cisco Certifications preferred.
  • Must read and write English at the College level.  Must be able to understand and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
