Project Manager, Security

Houston, TX

Responsible for planning, scheduling, organizing and directing, application engineering, field installation and start-up of assigned projects. Ensures projects are effectively executed within budgeted cost and time schedules and ensure positive cash flow. In addition, position is key interface with the customer and responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance on all assigned projects. Highest level of Project Manager has direct reports, high volume and/or critical accounts and customers.

Principal Duties

  • Manages, oversees and coordinates all aspects for all types of projects including the largest and most complex projects from award through completion of project
  • Translates a wide variety of customer needs / requirements requiring originality and ingenuity requiring new and unique approaches into detailed proposals and project implementation plans to meet Customer requirements
  • Proactively communicates project requirements to project team and wider organization as and when required, and maintains accurate and up to date records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records necessary for processing of internal and external reports
  • Identifies potential project risks and develops/implements strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
  • Proactively communicates project schedules, project change proposals and related project activities on a regular
  • Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies, services
  • Establishes project milestones and analyzes costs
  • Manages the execution and review of all scope of work, terms and conditions in customer contracts
  • May have direct reports and perform managerial responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of eight years of previous, relevant engineering, field service or project management experience preferred
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
  • Minimum of five years of project supervisory experience required
  • Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience
  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform work independently
