Sales Engineer

Houston, TX

The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing internal support to the sales team of DAC’s Building Automation Systems (BAS) division. The Sales Engineer will develop written scopes of work and cost estimates, as well as coordinate with Operations and Engineering to maintain technology standards. 


Sales Engineer Position Responsibilities

  • Develops written scopes of work based on designed drawings, or as a design-build effort.
  • Accurately estimates project costs and develops written proposals
  • Understands DAC’s business operations and technical capabilities and applies that knowledge to create profitable and effective solutions to DAC’s customers.
  • Performs post-completion job performance reviews by analyzing spent versus estimated costs.
  • Maintains and updates DAC estimating tools.


Sales Engineer Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • 2- or 4- year degree from a technical institute, college, or university preferred
  • Minimum of three years of BAS system installation, engineering, commissioning, or service required
  • Must understand the construction and service business theory.  Must have the specific product and industry knowledge necessary to make compelling sales and marketing presentations.   Must understand aspects of general construction.
  • Must possess the skills needed to execute the sales growth effort of the company.
  • Must understand general aspects of contract law, taxes and construction contracts.
  • Must have the ability to prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals and presentations and meet sales goals.
