System Administrator

System Administrator Position Responsibilities 

  • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, and print services. 
  • Maintain and expand internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, and security updates. 
  • Support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments. 
  • Perform routine/scheduled audits of systems, research event log warnings and errors, and monitor resources. 
  • Perform and verify system backups. 
  • Manage and track all IT assets using asset tracking tools. 
  • Use existing monitoring tools and security software to respond to issues as they arise. 
  • Act as a daily help desk to quickly resolve any system failures and troubleshoot issues.
  • Assist human resources with onboarding of new employees.
  • Maintain internal documentation of system architecture. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

System Administrator Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, information technology or related field required.
  • Microsoft MCSE, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+ certification or similar strongly preferred.
  • Three (3) plus years of experience administering server-side technology and networked computing systems required.
  • Prior experience with deploying, securing, and maintaining Linux and Windows servers, deploying and maintaining storage systems, and creating and maintaining perimeter and operating system firewall rules/policies required.
  • Experience with virtualization infrastructure preferred. 
  • Ability to prioritize a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines. 
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Availability outside of working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly.
